Where did you soften it?
Good morning, Stoics.
Yesterday’s challenge was to speak directly. No softening the truth.
This one tends to expose something quickly.
It’s not that you don’t know what to say. Most of the time, you do.
It’s that moment right before you say it.
You adjust it. You soften it. You make it easier to receive.
Sometimes that comes from trying to keep the peace. Sometimes it’s just habit.
And sometimes, it’s because you already know the reaction you might get.
That’s where this gets tested.
Speaking directly doesn’t mean being harsh. It means being honest without adding layers that dilute what you’re trying to say.
And that line can feel thin in real situations.
Now let’s hear it.
Where did you still hold back?
Was it a specific conversation where you changed your wording?
Did you avoid saying something altogether?
Or did you notice that hesitation and go along with it?
Stay steady.
