Good day, Stoics. 🫡
🔁 Nobody quits on the hard days.
The hard days have adrenaline in them. A crisis gives you something to push against, and pushing against something feels like living.
You quit on days like today.
The long weekend is over. Nothing is wrong. Nothing is exciting. The work in front of you is the same work that was there last Tuesday, and it will be there again next Tuesday.
This is the day it actually gets decided. Not the dramatic one. This one.
Discipline that needs a reason isn’t discipline. It’s motivation wearing a costume.
The Stoics trained for flat days on purpose. Not because flatness is noble, but because a person who only performs when something is happening isn’t in control. They’re being carried by events.
Do the thing today with nothing pushing you. That’s the whole practice.
📜 STOIC LINE OF THE DAY
“You need a change of soul rather than a change of climate.”
He wrote that to a friend who kept travelling to escape his own restlessness. The boredom was never in the place. It followed him, because he brought it.
⚔️ TODAY’S PRACTICE
Pick the one task you’d do today if someone you respect were watching. Do that first, before anything easier.
Next time you reach for your phone out of nothing, name it as boredom before you act on it. Once is enough.
Don’t start anything new today. Boredom’s favourite trick is convincing you that you need a fresh project instead of a finished one.
❓ QUESTION OF THE DAY
What have you quit in the past, not because it got hard, but because it got boring?
Hit reply and tell me.
Stay steady. ⚔️
