Courage. Justice. Wisdom. Temperance. Which is lacking the most?

The holidays tend to pull us out of our usual rhythm. That’s normal. Nothing went wrong.

Instead of trying to “get back on track” or making big declarations for the new year, there’s a simpler place to return to.

The virtues.

Stoicism comes down to four: Courage. Justice. Temperance. Wisdom.

You don’t need to work on all of them. Just one.

STOIC LINE OF THE DAY

“If it is not right, do not do it; if it is not true, do not say it.” – Marcus Aurelius, Meditations (12.17)

This line captures Stoic ethics in its most stripped-down form. Right action. Right speech. Nothing extra.

STOIC PLAYBOOK

Ask yourself one honest question:

Which virtue feels most lacking right now?

If it’s courage, do one thing you’ve been avoiding. If it’s justice, be fair where it would be easier not to be. If it’s temperance, practice a little restraint instead of indulgence. If it’s wisdom, pause and think before acting or speaking.

That’s it.

Focus on that single virtue for the next few days. Not to fix yourself. Just to steady yourself.

You’ll enter the new year calmer, clearer, and already moving.

Here’s what’s new:

Read when it helps. Post when you feel ready. Reflect quietly if that’s what you need. The work continues, without rush.
